Specialises in the history of relations between people and animals from the post-feudal to contemporary times. Before he became interested in the condition of animals and their role in the life of human societies, he conducted studies on social representation and people’s activity.

His book Le Point de vue animal was published in Polish by Wydawnictwo w Podwórku.
