Book industry meetings – an interesting calendar of events
WBF guests from the book industry – publishers, booksellers, librarians and printers will find many interesting meetings, debates and workshops to attend, co-organized by the Polish Chamber of Books, Polskie Towarzystwo Wydawców Książek (the Polish Society of Book Publishers), the National Library of Poland, the Polish Book Institute and the Capital City of Warsaw, among others. Some recommended events include: a training for publishers, booksellers and librarians on the principles of using protected works in promotional activities organized by Fundacja Legalna Kultura, a meeting on the collaboration between the publishing and film markets in Poland organized by Script Studio, a lecture by the Polish Society of Authors and Composers (ZAiKS) regarding copyright to illustrations, and meetings on children's books and their role in shaping reading habits (IBBY, IK). Translators will also find their share of events: a panel discussion on translators on the publishing market within the Literary Salon run by the Association of Polish Translators and Interpreters (STP), and a discussion entitled "Translators on the front lines of change: translations of daring books for children and young adults", organised by the Polish Literary Translators Association. The Warsaw Book Fair will also host a special zone for literary agents, who play an important role on the publishing market.
