Radosława Janowska-Lascar 26.05 14:00–15:30 "The book of the cat' – meeting with the writer Cristian Teodorescu

We invite you to a meeting with the award-winning Romanian writer Cristian Teodorescu and the translator Radosław Janowska-Lascar. The discussions will be led by Marcin Wilk

Cristian Teodorescu, the author of Medgidia (Amaltea 2016, translated by Radosława Janowska-Lascar), is famous for his colorful way of telling stories. He constructs his heroes with warmth and tenderness, and his books are seasoned with a large dose of humor and a pinch of irony.

The discussions will focus on this year's Polish launching of "The book of the cat" (Amaltea 2019, translated by Radosława Janowska-Lascar). The narrator of the novel is a one-eyed cat, taken in by the writer. The cat's look at the world, though limited as a result of an accident, becomes a pretext to consider family, friendship and the modern world relationships. A book not only for lovers of meowing pets!

The author's previous book, Medgidia qualified for the finals of the ANGELUS Central European Literary Award in 2016.
